Park Min-young, the star of “Marry My Husband,” will headline “Nine to Six,” a Korean office romance that Prime Video will release on Nov. 25. Yook Sung-jae of the K-pop group BtoB and Go Soo co-star in the 12-episode series. The show will reach viewers in more than 240 countries and territories.

The announcement fits into a larger push by the streamer to expand its Asian originals. Prime Video unveiled its 2026 Asian content lineup on Thursday at its inaugural International Originals showcase in London, where Park appeared alongside other talent. The platform says content from Japan, Korea and India has found significant global viewership outside its English-language programming slate.

A Legal Team Where Love Is Not Part of the Plan

Park plays Kang Yi-ji, a senior manager on the legal team at a company called Chronic Motors. Logical and driven, Yi-ji has carved out her place in a workplace dominated by men. She regards love and marriage as little more than a passing chemical impulse.

Her path to law was not entirely her own choice. She once wanted to study astronomy, but her mother pushed her toward the legal profession. That background shapes a character who values order and control, and the story sets out to disrupt both.

Two men upend her orderly routine. The series builds its central tension around how Yi-ji responds to each of them, and whether she can open up without giving up the career she spent years building.

Two Men, Two Very Different Approaches

Yook plays Han Sun-woo, a legal intern who would rather be designing jewelry and who trusts his instincts over logic. When Yi-ji lands in danger, he shields her without a second thought. That moment may change how she sees him.

Go plays Park Hyun-tae, an executive director in Chronic Motors’ Seoul office. He has come back from the company’s European headquarters after climbing the corporate ladder at a young age. Hyun-tae has long believed that romance only complicates life, and Yi-ji’s competence, which earns his respect, puts that belief to the test.

The series sets the younger colleague’s openness against the executive’s grasp of her ambitions. That contrast leaves Yi-ji to work out where her priorities really lie. The setup pairs a workplace drama with a love triangle, built around a heroine who distrusts romance on principle.

The Creative Team Behind the Series

Choi Ji-oh wrote the series. Lee Hyung-min directs alongside Oh Song-hee. Lee’s credits include “Strong Girl Bong-soon,” “Miss Night and Day” and “I’m Sorry, I Love You,” while Oh previously worked on “The Escape of the Seven.”

The cast also brings a deep list of past work. Park’s other credits include “Siren’s Kiss” and “Confidence Queen.” Yook has appeared in “The Haunted Palace,” “The Golden Spoon” and “Guardian: The Lonely and Great God.” Go’s work includes “Missing: The Other Side,” “Colony” and “Parole Examiner Lee.”

Joining a Growing Prime Video Korean Lineup

“Nine to Six” joins a Prime Video lineup that already carries several Korean titles. Those include “Love in Disguise,” “A Love Other Than Yours,” “See You at Work Tomorrow!,” “Spring Fever,” “Surely Tomorrow,” “Head Over Heels” and “Good Boy.” The addition keeps the platform’s steady flow of Korean romance and drama going.

Prime Video builds on the performance of earlier hits. “Marry My Husband” and “No Gain No Love” both reached the platform’s global Top 10 based on out-of-country viewership. At the London showcase, the streamer previewed six Korean titles developed with leading studios including CJ ENM, SLL and Coupang Play.

Among the Korean projects, “Human x Gumiho” (working title) is a supernatural romance starring Jun Ji-hyun, who also goes by Gianna Jun, and Ji Chang Wook. The streamer also showed an Indian original film from producer Alia Bhatt. The titles previewed represent only a sampling, and Prime Video plans to announce the full 2026 lineup in the coming months.

Anime and Franchise Revivals Round Out the Showcase

The Asian slate extended well beyond Korean romance. Gaurav Gandhi, VP of APAC and ANZ for Prime Video, presented the select titles from the broader Asia-Pacific slate. Kelly Day, VP of Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios International, and Nicole Clemens, VP of International Originals, hosted the presentation.

The headline anime is “The Ghost in the Shell,” a cyberpunk series that explores the intersection of humanity and technology in a hyper-connected 2029 metropolis. It returns in July 2026 as a new anime series from Science SARU, the studio behind Golden Globe nominee “Inu-oh” and the anime television series “Dan Da Dan.” The series will stream exclusively worldwide on Prime Video, excluding Russia and China, and Prime Video holds an early exclusive window in Japan.

The franchise began with Shirow Masamune’s 1989 manga and has since expanded across anime, live-action Hollywood film and video games. A “Fist of the North Star: Hokuto No Ken” reboot from TMS Entertainment marks that franchise’s 40th anniversary. It reimagines the manga series with computer-generated imagery combined with hand-drawn animation.

The showcase also featured Season 2 of “From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman.” Its first season reached Prime Video’s Top 10 in more than 45 territories. Together, the announcements show how heavily the streamer leans on Asian storytelling to reach audiences far beyond the region.

Prime Video plans to recast the lead role in its highly anticipated God of War television series after star Ryan Hurst suffered a serious injury on set. Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios made the difficult decision jointly after careful consideration of production timelines and the actor’s recovery requirements.

Hurst sustained a torn bicep while performing a stunt on the Vancouver set of the PlayStation video game adaptation in late June. The injury proved severe enough to require surgery, forcing production to halt immediately following the incident. The show remains on hiatus as the studios work to recast the central role and reschedule filming.

The news represents a heartbreaking turn for Hurst, who had undergone an extensive physical transformation to embody the character of Kratos. The actor added 40 pounds of muscle after landing the role and spent months filming the physically demanding part before the injury occurred. He has since completed surgery and entered the recovery phase.

Recovery Timeline Forces Difficult Production Decision

Medical experts typically estimate four to six months for recovery from serious bicep tears requiring surgical intervention. Full strength often takes up to a year to return, according to standard recovery protocols. Given the extreme physicality required for the role of Kratos, sources indicate Hurst likely could not have safely resumed filming until 2027.

Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios prioritized Hurst’s complete recovery above all else, but the extended timeline proved incompatible with the production shooting schedule. The studios could not accommodate the lengthy recovery period required for the actor to safely perform the role’s demanding physical requirements. Prep work for the revamped production begins in mid-August, with cameras rolling again by mid-October.

The ancient mythology-themed series comes from writer, executive producer, and showrunner Ronald D. Moore, who secured a two-season order from Amazon. Filming originally began in February in Vancouver, with both seasons planned for back-to-back production. That ambitious filming schedule remains in place despite the recasting setback.

Four Completed Episodes Face Reshoots

Production had fully completed four episodes at the time of Hurst’s injury. The studios face the costly decision to reshoot all completed material with the new actor who takes over the role. Prime Video even released a first-look image of Hurst as Kratos back in February, building anticipation among fans of the beloved video game franchise.

The recasting decision carries significant production implications beyond finding a new actor. Callum Vinson, a child actor, plays the co-lead role of Atreus, Kratos’s son. Using existing footage alongside new material with a different Kratos would prove difficult, as young actors grow and change rapidly during lengthy production schedules. The visual continuity challenges make complete reshoots the most practical solution.

The series follows father and son Kratos and Atreus as they journey to spread the ashes of their wife and mother, Faye, adapting story elements from the two most recent God of War video games. Through their adventures, Kratos attempts to teach his son to be a better god, while Atreus tries to teach his father how to be a better human. The narrative focuses on ten-year-old Atreus learning to navigate his identity while battling gods of the Norse pantheon.

Strong Cast Remains in Place for Production Restart

The supporting cast stays attached to the project despite the lead recasting. Max Parker portrays Heimdall, while Ólafur Darri Ólafsson takes on the role of Thor. Emmy winner Mandy Patinkin brings gravitas to the role of Odin, and Alastair Duncan plays Mimir.

Danny Woodburn and Jeff Gulka portray brothers Brok and Sindri, while Ed Skrein rounds out the ensemble as Baldur. These established cast members provide continuity as the production team works to identify and cast a new Kratos. Prime Video hopes to return to full production by mid-fall once the new lead actor joins the project.

Character Description Sets High Bar for Replacement Actor

The official character breakdown establishes substantial requirements for the role. Kratos stands as Spartan by birth and a god by nature. Martial culture raised him, and he rose to command armies in service of his homeland. One fateful day, he made a devastating deal with Ares, the Greek God of War, losing his soul in exchange for battlefield victory.

Hurst brought meaningful connections to the God of War universe before landing the television role. The actor previously voiced the Norse god Thor in the video game God of War: Ragnarok, demonstrating his familiarity with the franchise’s mythology and tone. His departure from the series comes during what should have been a celebratory moment, as Hurst appears in Christopher Nolan’s Odyssey, which opened in theaters this week.

Production Team Remains Committed to Vision

Frederick E.O. Toye directs the first two episodes under Moore’s creative leadership through his Tall Ship Productions banner. Maril Davis of Tall Ship executive produces alongside Cory Barlog, Naren Shankar, Matthew Graham, and Asad Qizilbash. Additional executive producers include Jeff Ketcham, Hermen Hulst, Roy Lee, and Brad Van Arragon.

The series also benefits from the contributions of co-executive producers Joe Menosky, Marc Bernardin, Tania Lotia, and Ben McGinnis. Sony Pictures Television co-produces the ambitious adaptation, bringing decades of television production expertise to the video game property. Prime Video declined to comment officially on the recasting news and production adjustments.

The recasting represents one of the most significant production disruptions in recent streaming television history. Yet the project’s two-season commitment and passionate creative team suggest strong institutional support for seeing the adaptation through to completion, regardless of the setbacks faced during initial production.

The Boys is racing toward its conclusion on Prime Video. Season 5 Episode 7 arrives as one of the final two episodes before the series wraps. Eric Kripke, Seth Rogen, and Evan Goldberg continue pushing the story into dangerous territory. Major characters have already fallen, and no one appears safe heading into the finale.

The penultimate episode carries a lot of weight. The show must deliver emotional payoffs while also setting the stage for its final chapter. Season 5 has proven relentless in killing off key figures. Fans should brace for more of the same in Episode 7.

Release Date and Runtime for Episode 7

Season 5 Episode 7 premieres on Prime Video on Wednesday, May 13, 2026. The episode drops at 3 a.m. ET, or 12 a.m. PT. Its runtime clocks in at 1 hour and 6 minutes. That makes it an extended episode compared to the season’s average length.

The episode carries the title The Frenchman, the Female, and the Man Called Mother’s Milk. That title directly spotlights three core members of The Boys team. Their storylines appear set for major moments. Those moments may prove irreversible before the finale arrives.

The Boys airs its series finale on May 20, 2026. The fifth season follows the same eight-episode format as previous seasons. Only two episodes remain after Episode 6. The endgame is officially here.

Homelander’s Power Reaches a Breaking Point

Episode 7 digs into the consequences of Homelander’s unchecked authority. He received V1, the original Vought serum, granting him terrifying new abilities. His regime shows signs of collapse despite his godlike control. The episode examines what happens when supreme power creates its own enemies from within.

Soldier Boy returns in a pivotal role this episode. Jensen Ackles brings tension to every scene opposite Antony Starr’s Homelander. Their shared history complicates any possible alliance between the two. A dangerous triangle of power forms as the season races toward its conclusion.

Episode 6 revealed that Soldier Boy was immune to the virus. That discovery forced Butcher’s team to completely pivot their tactics. Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, and Erin Moriarty press forward despite the setback. The group faces devastating obstacles as the final battle approaches.

Full Expected Cast for Season 5 Episode 7

The Boys expanded its ensemble cast again in Episode 6. A one-off character from Season 3 also made a return appearance. Crossover characters from the canceled spin-off Gen V also appear in this episode. Here is a look at the full expected cast for Episode 7:

Gen V Characters Enter the Picture

The Boys has welcomed several Gen V characters into its final season. The spin-off series faced cancellation, but its characters live on in Season 5. Jaz Sinclair, London Thor, Derek Luh, Lizze Broadway, Maddie Phillips, and Asa Germann all appear. Their inclusion gives Gen V fans a proper send-off within the flagship show.

The crossover adds new dynamics to the core team’s final mission. These younger supes bring different abilities and perspectives to the conflict. Their presence also raises the emotional stakes considerably. Losing any of them would hit audiences especially hard at this stage.

How Season 5 Sets Up the Vought Rising Prequel

The Boys Season 5 serves two purposes simultaneously. It concludes the story that began in 2019. It also lays the groundwork for the upcoming prequel series Vought Rising. That series arrives in 2027 and explores the supes of the 1950s.

Vought Rising will follow the founding of the titular company as a global superpower. Season 5 has introduced and developed several characters central to that story. Soldier Boy, Stormfront, and Bombsight all play important roles in Season 5’s plot. All three also appear among the confirmed lead characters of Vought Rising.

Season 5 Episode 3 named five supes carrying V1 in their blood. Those supes are Soldier Boy, Stormfront, Bombsight, Torpedo, and Private Angel. The show confirmed all five as lead characters in Vought Rising. Their prominence in Season 5 makes that connection impossible to miss.

V1 as the Bridge Between Both Shows

V1, the original strain of Compound V, drives much of Season 5’s plot. The serum grants abilities far beyond the standard Compound V formula. Only five supes have successfully integrated it into their systems. That fact makes each of those characters extraordinarily significant to both shows.

The development of V1 forms a major Season 5 plot thread. Writers have also inserted dialogue hinting at Soldier Boy’s traumatic V1 injection experiences. Vought Rising will likely expand heavily on that backstory. The Boys has planted too many seeds in this area for the prequel to ignore them.

Season 5 walks a careful line between satisfying its existing audience and building toward the future. Some critics argue the Vought Rising setup has diluted Season 5’s focus. Regardless, the two stories now feel deeply intertwined. The penultimate episode will push both threads forward simultaneously.

What the Finale Could Deliver

The series finale airs one week after Episode 7, on May 20, 2026. The show has spent five seasons building toward a definitive confrontation. Homelander’s regime, Butcher’s mission, and the V1 conspiracy must all reach resolution. Fans have waited since 2019 for this conclusion.

The Boys has never shied away from shocking, permanent consequences. Major characters have already died in Season 5. Episode 7 carries the title of penultimate episode, meaning the finale must deliver on every front. Prime Video subscribers can catch the new episode starting at 12 a.m. PT on Wednesday, May 13.
